Trust is undoubtedly the  most precious thing we have to give. It is probably the one thing we  give away without even thinking about the implications of  giving it so freely. When trust is betrayed  the loss extends far beyond the  loss of trust

 

A question of Trust!

Trust, but Verify was a signature phrase of Ronald Reagan.

I prefer the  phrase Verify your Trust

and the best time   to do  that  is BEFORE you commit to  something or accept a system as being robust.

New Zealand has been a very trusting  nation, we  used to be able to  seal any deal with a verbal agreement and  a handshake and be assured that  the deal was sound.

That now is history. This is 2008  and  New Zealand has caught up with the rest of the word  and new Zealand is far more corrupt  than many  perceive it to be.

Trust is not something that should be given away lightly   everything we do   depends on trust .

There are many  who have trusted and paid the price

	The company  which  lost thousands  when  the accounts lady was trusted
	The  warehouse which lost stock  because they trusted the store man
	The investor who trusted the  investment company
	The mothers who trusted the company to  check the quality of the milk powder
	From  minor inconvenience  to   loss of funds to loss of health and life there are many instances where the single contributing factor is  misplaced trust.
	The company which trusted its partners  and the systems they used

Fortunately there is a simple solution   each and every one of us   has the  right to decide who  and what to trust and we alone decide  what the criteria are for  giving our way our trust.

Depending on the  nature of the  trust relationship  or the system , verification could be as simple as checking out the facts before  deciding to give your trust.

When do you  Verify trust ?

1. Before entering into any relationship of agreement  which could bring about loss.

2. Before using  something  which if defective could  bring about harm to yourself or others.

the list is endless but includes

1. employment systems and relationships

2. financial systems and relationships

3. Investment of any kind

4. Land lord /tenant relationships  processes.

5. Partnerships, business relationships , structure of trusts

6. Relationships

7. Business policies

It  extends  to anything   .. would you get into a taxi with Bald tyres? How long  would it take to  check. But unless you are aware that  such things can happen you would not think to question it
